Dana McDowellMA, LPC, CEDSNew Beginnings Psychotherapy, LLC
My passion, for as long as I can remember, has been about helping people develop healthy connections with themselves, their bodies and their emotions. I have always had an insatiable curiosity about nutrition, spirituality and connection – and how they intersect to play a role in our mental health and wellbeing. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and specialize in working with disordered eating of all types. I am the founder and was the Past President of the Denver Metro Int’l Assoc of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp). I started the Denver Metro chapter because I am passionate about helping provide education and training about eating disorders to other professionals and the community. I also work with men and women on a broad variety of other issues – anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, stress management, and life transitions, just to name a few.
Tonya McFarland, PsyD
I am a compassionate and dedicated psychologist who has worked with eating disorders for more than 10 years. I provide individual, couple, and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with disordered eating patterns. In addition, I treat symptoms associated with depression, bipolar, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and self-injurious behaviors. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques to address these symptoms. Some of these involve being able to change thoughts that may not be accurate, learning skills to cope with emotions and improve relationships, role playing, art therapy, and animal assistant therapy.
