Intro to Intuitive Eating:
A Tool to Liberate Yourself from the Prison of Diet Culture and Weight Obsession
We are born Intuitive Eaters, but cultural messages to diet and lose weight quickly start to take over our minds and cause us to lose trust in our bodies. Intuitive Eating is a process of relearning instincts we once knew. Extensive research shows that Intuitive Eating is associated with lower markers of disordered eating, food preoccupation, food-related anxiety, body dissatisfaction, binge eating, and depression. This workshop will introduce you to the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating that will help you learn to reject diet culture and make peace with food and your body.
When: Wednesday, May 15th
Time: 5:00-6:00pm Mountain Time
Who: Everyone is welcome
Where: Virtually on Zoom
Cost: Free
Can’t make it? A recording of this workshop will be posted on our YouTube channel.
Brought to you in collaboration with Carey Baldwin, RD, CIEC
Carey Baldwin (She/Her) is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. She began her career working as a clinical dietitian at St Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City where she focused on Medical Nutrition Therapy. After taking a break to stay home with her kids, Carey decided to shift gears away from clinical work and follow her passion which is helping people who struggle with disordered eating. Carey is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and opened her private practice in Denver last year called Safe Space Nutrition Counseling, LLC. She cares deeply about inclusivity and is HAES aligned. When she’s not helping clients, she loves to travel with her family and spend time in the mountains either hiking or skiing.
