Build Your Yardstick: An Introduction to Confident Caregiving Skills

Calling all Caregivers!

Join us for this interactive, skills-building webinar with Bryn Miller, an eating disorder psychotherapist turned caregiver coach. Backed by her decade of experience supporting families, Bryn helps busy and overwhelmed caregivers get calm, confident and connected to their loved ones through her organized approach, concrete skills and compassionate support.

Bryn, an expert in Caregiver Support, will walk you through key tenants of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) including why Caregivers are so important, the robust research behind the model and, most importantly, what you can do to support your loved one, no matter what their struggle is or the state of your relationship.

You will leave with three concrete tools to help you help your loved one right away, by:

  • Completing a visual exercise to set clear goals for your Caregiver work
  • A tracking tool to clearly assess if things are working- and what to do if they aren’t!
  • An empowering reframe for approaching the hardest situations with your loved one

Bring your pen and paper, this one will be full of tools you can start using immediately! (Or just come and listen- you do you!) And save the date for our follow-up webinar on September 11th to take it to the next level!

Let’s level up your caregiving confidence!

Brought to you in collaboration with Bryn Miller, LPC, CEDS-S and Bryn Miller Parent Coaching

Bryn Miller is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado, a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Supervisor and an Certified Advanced Therapist in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). She is also the Secretary of the Denver Metro iaedp Chapter and runs the Monthly Connection Caregiver Skills Group through The Eating Disorder Foundation.

With nearly a decade working with adolescents and young adults with eating disorders alongside their parents and caregivers at every level of care, Bryn is passionate about supporting both individuals and their support teams to explore and heal their relationships with food and their bodies. Bryn approaches her work, both with individuals and their loved ones, with the goal of whole family healing.

In service of the mission to better support caregivers and inspired by EFFT, Bryn founded Bryn Miller Parent Coaching and developed her signature 5-Step Parent Coaching Program, The Response Roadmap. Through live groups and her on-demand course, Bryn empowers parents to access their sense of calm and confidence to better connect to their children and the parents they want to be, regardless of the struggles.

When Bryn is not working, she is writing, meditating, embarrassing herself in a hip-hop dance class and trying (largely unsuccessfully) to keep up with her own two small children.

Uncover the Unseen: Confronting loneliness and isolation with the power of community
Jul 25 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

This presentation sets off by grounding the audience on a singular definition of mental health using definitions and examples. That sets the context for the affects of loneliness, isolation, vulnerability, and healing. We will jump on a slight tangent to breakdown the effect of digital adversaries on mental health as they are so prevalent in society today. Finally, there is a section on Dos, Don’ts and FAQs to set audience members up for immediate ways they can be mental health stewards in their communities, and to help kick start questions and conversation on the presentation.

When: Thursday, July 25th

Time: 5:00-6:00pm Mountain Time

Cost: Free

Along his journey, he developed language to make mental health tangible, actionable, and communal. He has since worked with professional athletes, Fortune 500 companies, veterans, and recovering addicts to provide actionable definitions and frameworks around mental health.
