Pelvic Health 101 with Dr. Michelle Laging
Join us virtually on Wednesday, July 20th as Dr. Michelle Laging discusses the importance of pelvic health. During our time together you will learn about the basic anatomy and function of the pelvic floor and learn to recognize symptoms that may be related to pelvic floor dysfunction, practice simple breathwork to understand the connection to the pelvic floor and more!
This is workshop will provide the same information covered in the event we provided on June 15th, 2022. This workshop will be less interactive and RECORDED. There will be time for Q & A after the presentation.

Join Equip’s Director of Lived Experience JD Ouellette, Equip Lead Family Mentor Chita Gastelum, and Equip Peer Mentor Pita Meanata will be sharing the research on how and why life transitions like breakups, moving, and starting a new job can be particularly difficult for folks vulnerable to eating disorders, their personal stories of navigating difficult transitions during recovery, and tips on how to prevent relapses when facing major life changes.
We will discuss:
1) Research and data around difficulty of transitions in those vulnerable to EDs
2) Personal experiences with transitions
3) How to prevent relapse during transitions
4) When and how to get help
Exploring the relationship between eating disorders and sexuality.
We will explore the relationship between sexuality and eating disorders. We will review mental health statistics and discuss sexuality implications within LGBTQ+ communities and for those who have experienced sexual trauma. We will also touch on how eating disorders impact sexuality for all those experiencing them.
Kila Peak-Rishel is a licensed clinical social worker, licensed marriage and family therapist, and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor. Kaila has over eight years of eating disorder experience with children and adolescents and gender and sexuality therapy across the lifespan. Kaila is passionate about social justice, advocacy, and helping patients find accessible treatment. She is co-chair of Eating Recovery Center & Pathlight’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council in the west region. Kaila presents and consults about inclusive care for marginalized populations, including the University of Colorado Psychiatry Hospital Grand Rounds. Kaila obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology, Women’s Studies, and LGBT Studies. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver. She earned her Marriage and Family Therapist Certification from Denver Family Insititute, where she specialized in couples and families within the LGBTQ+ and polyamorous population. At this same time, Kaila was training at Children’s Hospital in Colorado in the Eating Disorder Unit, specializing in the Modsley Method. She maintains a small private practice focusing on gender and sexuality and is the clinical director for Eating Recovery Center’s virtual intensive outpatient programming. When Kaila is not working, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and nesting in her home with her wife. She is a big animal lover and has three pups that take a lot of her time. Kaila also enjoys paddle boarding, reading, and all things hair and makeup.
Join us as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist Supervisor Meredith Nisbet provides therapeutic context and skills support for people seeking or sustaining recovery from BED. Meredith will also discuss the application of a Health At Every Size (HAES) framework to recovery and identify ways to create a meaningful, flexible recovery environment.”
