Registration is currently FULL – join the wait list at info@eatingdisorderfoundation.org or 303-322-3373
- Are you the parent of a child with an eating disorder?
- Do you blame yourself for your child’s illness and/or struggles?
- Does this self-blame weigh you down?
Join us for an experiential workshop where you will have the opportunity to release some of the pain of parental self-blame. Facilitated by Dr. Adele Lafrance and rooted deeply in compassion, this workshop will involve individual and group exercises to move through the guilt and shame that often surface when supporting a child with an eating disorder, no matter their age.
Dr. Adele Lafrance is an Associate Professor of Psychology from Ontario, Canada. She is a clinical psychologist and co-developer of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). As founding co-director of Mental Health Foundations, Dr. Lafrance provides consultation and training for clinicians, school boards and mental health agencies worldwide. She has published extensively in the field of clinical psychology and currently supports the research base for emotion-focused interventions in mental health and school settings. Dr. Lafrance is regularly interviewed in the media and is a frequent speaker throughout the world. She also makes many practical resources for parents, caregivers and other adult influencers available on her website (without cost: www.mentalhealthfoundations.ca).

It’s no secret the dating world is complicated, especially when we are still working out the relationship we have with our own body and eating behaviors. Join the conversation with Karlee Golightly, a Registered Dietitian, Body Positive Yoga Teacher and the Mama of Moxie Mind.
We’ll talk about…
– Not letting your eating disorder define your body and worth. You are more interesting than your body.
– How to approach conversations about your relationship with food/body/exercise with someone new.
– The correlation between disordered eating and dating/sex patterns: AN vs BN.
– Recognizing triggering behaviors from someone you’re dating and how to talk about it.
– Navigating compliments and others’ views of your body.
– Dating in Denver culture: you don’t have to be a runner, into snowboarding, or like hiking 14’ers to go on dates.
