Hannah Turnbull is a non diet, health at every size (HAES) registered dietitian nutritionist who helps clients navigate their relationship to food and their body, and learn what nourishment means for them. She blogs on her website www.nourishedwithhannah.comand you can find her dismantling diet culture one post at a time on instagram at @HannahRDN. She is obsessed with her dog Bennett and spends far too much time consuming media and coffee.
Michele Cooper, LCSW is a therapist in private practice in Denver, CO. Michele specializes in working with adults and teens struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image issues, anxiety and trauma. She utilizes evidence-based treatments such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR. Michele provides both group and individual counseling in her practice, CORtherapy at Elevate Counseling and Community Center.

— how money and food fears can have similar foundations (spoiler alert: shame is involved!)

— how people may subsitute symptoms between food and money processes and patterns

— tips on how to talk about money and costs of treatment, to yourself and to others

— how clarity and support are tools for peace and recovery  -for both eating disorders and money “disorders”

Wendy Wright, LMFT, CEDS, CIEC is a psychotherapist and consultant based in Denver, CO. She has over 15 years experience in counseling those with eating disorders and their loved ones.

She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), CEDS Supervisor, and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor (CIEC). She can help you decode the underlying meanings and functions of eating disorder thoughts.  Wendy also offers financial counseling and helps you name the blocks that get in the way of your best financial life.

When she is not helping others find freedom in their relationships with food and finances, she is likely on her yoga mat, the ski slope, or a hiking trail. You can find her at wendywrightcounseling.com, for in office and virtual sessions and groups.

About the Facilitators:

Megan Foster
Megan Foster is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with a passion for supporting others in their healing from eating disorders. Megan began practicing yoga with her mom as a kid, and later found the practice again as a way to heal her relationship to her body in her early 20’s. Her background in social work and emotional healing informs the way that she teaches yoga, aiming to create a safe, healing experience for the body, mind, and soul, and helps all people to feel what their body needs in the moment.

Brogan Rossi
Brogan started her yoga journey while living abroad in New Zealand with her husband in 2013. She worked at a yoga studio and quickly fell in love with the community the practice brought with it. Since then, Brogan has received both her Yoga Sculpt license and 200-hour RYT license from Core Power Yoga. Yoga has transformed her life by reducing stress, creating a safe and welcoming community, and increasing her overall devotion to self-care and wellbeing.

Join us for an experiential workshop where you will have the opportunity to release some of the pain of parental self-blame. Facilitated by Dr. Adele Lafrance and rooted deeply in compassion, this workshop will involve individual and group exercises to move through the guilt and shame that often surface when supporting a child with an eating disorder, no matter their age.

Dr. Adele Lafrance is an Associate Professor of Psychology from Ontario, Canada. She is a clinical psychologist and co-developer of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). As founding co-director of Mental Health Foundations, Dr. Lafrance provides consultation and training for clinicians, school boards and mental health agencies worldwide. She has published extensively in the field of clinical psychology and currently supports the research base for emotion-focused interventions in mental health and school settings. Dr. Lafrance is regularly interviewed in the media and is a frequent speaker throughout the world. The Eating Disorder Foundation is proud to announce that renowned clinician and author Carolyn Costin MA, MEd, LMFT, CEDS, FAED will give the keynote address and receive the esteemed Greg Hueni Memorial Award at this year’s 2019 Gala, Icebreaker-Breaking the Silence, which will take place April 6th at Denver’s Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Carolyn Costin is an eating disorder clinician, author, and international speaker acclaimed for her expertise in the eating disorder field. Carolyn‘s personal story illuminates the power of recovery. She overcame anorexia nervosa while in her 20’s and subsequently earned two masters degrees and began her career as a psychotherapist. In 1996, Carolyn created Monte Nido, a treatment center near Malibu, CA. the first licensed, residential eating disorder treatment facility in a home setting, combining state of the art treatment with eastern methodologies. After leaving Monte Nido & Affiliates Carolyn opened The Carolyn Costin Institute, offering the first certification program for eating disorder coaches and education for clinicians and families.

Through her speeches and acclaimed books, such as The Eating Disorder Sourcebook, Your Dieting Daughter, and 8 Keys to Recovery from an Eating Disorder, Carolyn has been a tireless voice in treating, educating and preventing eating disorders.

Carolyn has served on a number of boards in her dedicated years including The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) as Former Board Trustee and chair of The Parent Family Network,an editorial board member of Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment andPrevention, Project Heal Advisory Board, and Senior Advisory Committee, former board of directors and L.A. chapter president ofInternational Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), and a fellow of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED).
